What can I say? I blame the Father Brown Chtistmas spesical, it planted an idea, an idea for yet another random as hell rarepair ship!

Most of the fandom you have been able to find ship something that you absolutly can't stand! *grumble, grumble*

I don't think I'll ever be convinced of the Sid/Sulivan ship. To me, they have absolutly no chemistry at all. Ship and let ship and all that, it's just a bit dull when most of the fandom loves a character and a ship that you do not even like. Yeah....I actually don't like Sulivan all that much either to be honest.

I'm just going to be the awkward one who thinks slighty pervy stuff about Father Brown himself ;) I'm always into the kind and cuddly type.

Title: Mostly Idle Thoughts
Summary: Sid is not quite sure how Father Brown convinced him to stay the night in this cottage. And it's really cold as well. It's a good thing that Father Brown does not mind sharing the covers. But the effect it has on Sid is on the muddled and confused side.
A/N: I'm well aware that I'm the only one who wants to see this scenario. But I'll share it anyway.

Ok so Father Brown almost ended up sliced open on the pathologist's slab in the last episode of series four thanks to a funky poison. But on the bright side(in my world)fuzzy belly!

The Police Inspectors in Father Brown never stay around for long. At least we know what happened to Vallentine, he moved to London. Sullivan was just gone by the begining of series four. My guess is that the happenings of The Owl of Minerva caused him to rethink his life. So he moved away from Kembleford to begin anew somewhere else. At the beginning of series four it seemed like Inspector Mallory allready had some familiarity with Father Brown and the gang.

I operate on a scale of "which one do I dislike the least" when it comes to the Kembleford Police Inspectors. And I'd say Vallentine and Sullivan are about tied in this. Vallentine was a bit grumpy and gruff, but he had his moments, and when he left he did say that he thought he might end up missing Father Brown. Which I guess is his way of admitting that Father Brown is good at solving crime. Sullivan, to me, came off as a bit smug in a way. Just like Vallentine he did not like Father Brown meddling in police matters, but he was even more insistent on that Father Brown is just a meddling fool, as if he was repressing the memories of how Father Brown and his crew are the ones who solves the cases most of the time. He was grateful that they clared his name in The Owl of Minerva, but I guess he's too awkward and proud to give proper thanks. Mallory is your classic temperemental police Inspector. I like him a little, but I find him too much of a cliché to be honest.

Also! I can't understand how Sid/Sullivan is the biggest ship in the fandom!! Well, I do understand insofar that they are two conventionally attractive guys, one who is a police officer and the other an ocational petty crook, and people like some foe yay. But if you ask me they never interacted enough for any sort tension/chemistry/rapport to develop between them. They probably has what it takes for other people, but they are far from the kind of people I prefer to ship. Not that fond of rival/bitching shipps in general. I'm not one to talk either way, as I ship Sid with Father Brown, something I am very well aware of is mental in at least four different ways.

Episode 5 of series 2 of Father Brown presented me with a well loved trope of mine. Bed sharing!!

I would really love to find  some stills from the Father Brown episode The Maddest of All from series two!

Because I like the image of Father Brown without the long black cassock a bit too much. Seriously! Black shirt rolled up and putting his underarms on display, and suspenders!...asdfghjkl...ugh. Not to mention the fact that like this I can see exactly how his stomach looks like. Mmmm yeah. Yes please. So soft and cuddly.

I have now watched all ten episodes of the first series of Father Brown in about three days. It's safe to say I have a new series in my fandom collection. I think I might have some kind of addiction to those typical british "cosy crime" shows, and this one has Mark Williams aka Arthur Weasley in the titular role. I have never had such a strong urge to cuddle a priest before!
